I like having the new version, but the only new feature I've found
particularly useful is being able to have multiple images open in the
editor. Apart from that, 9 is not much different from 8--for the types
of basic things I do (screen capture, minor editing and trimming).

I have SnagIt 8.x (my own copy from when I was doing contracting) and so
does my current employer. I love it. SnagIt is sending email saying that
I
have about two weeks left to get SnagIt 9 at a reduced price. There was
a
discussion here a while ago about problems with version 9. I went back
and
read the old emails and couldn't decide whether on the whole issues were
fixed and the new version was a win.

I use SnagIt for really basic things: several types of screen capture,
minor
editing and trimming, maybe some callouts. I am the polar opposite of a
graphics genius and what I like about SnagIt's function is that I can do
what I need to do without getting caught up in needless complexity.
Should I
upgrade? Should I encourage my company to upgrade?

All opinions expected and gratefully accepted.
Meryl
