Regarding ongoing efforts to impose greater and greater regulation and
bureaucracy on all aspects of life:

"That which is not mandated ... is forbidden."

Some people read that sentence and get the creeping heebie-jeebies.
Others read it, smile with contentment, and sigh "At last."

If you are one of the latter, consider another hoary statement that
applies:

"If you look around the game table and can't readily see who is the
mark, it's you."

'Nuff said.
