In a book I am editing about agile testing, I am changing "on an
environment" to "in an environment," but I am beginning to wonder whether
I'm correct.
Certainly in normal English, "in" is correct, but in some situations, such
as the following, is "on" ever correct?
"Sometimes we're required to demonstrate system functionality on our demo
environment."
-----------
If "on" can be correct, can you explain when it is correct? I have edited a
lot of computer books, but I've never run across this phrase with that
preposition.
