Word 2007 on Vista. Developing a training module made up of multiple
lessons. These lessons have multiple figures that are unique to each
lesson. I currently have a style set up in Word called Figure Caption
that numbers the Figures as Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, etc. Right
now, within a lesson, I am simply restarting the numbering for this
style at 1; however, it is confusing to me (and therefore, I am sure it
will be to my users) to have multiple figures with the same number. Is
there a way in Word to number the figures with a single style such as
Lesson Number - Figure Number so that all Figures in Lesson 1 are
preceded by a 1 (1-1, 1-2, etc.), all figures in Lesson 2 are preceded
by a 2 (2-1, 2-2, etc.) and yada, yada, yada. I can do this with
separate Figure Caption styles and apply accordingly ino each lesson,
but that's a bit unwieldy and I am hoping there is a better solution.
(This would be such a no brainer in Framemaker).
