Joel,

We create a 11 X 17 file within the book with the 11 X 17 drawings. This
way you do not have to worry about not have page numbers for the 11 x 17
pages. Of course, if it happens to be a chapter, you will need to create
the chapter title page as a chapter, and the drawings as a separate
chapter.

For example, to put an 11 X 17 page(s) in the middle of a chapter you
would do the following:

1. Use your normal chapter template and enter the information up
to the 11 x 17 document

2. create the 11 x 17 document in a new file (using the 11 x 17
template chapter pages).

3. Then using your chapter template begin the chapter where you
left off in step 1.

In all, this process has you working in three different Book Files. I
know it seems a bit convoluted, but it seems to work for page numbering
without having to muck around in Acrobat.

When you are ready to print, do the following:
1. From the File menu, select Print Book.
The Print Book window appears.

2. Select the Print To File check box.

3. Change the Print to File field to .ps extension.

4. Click Setup... button.
The Print Setup window appears.

5. From the Name drop down menu, select Adobe PDF.

6. Click Properties button.
The Adobe PDF Document Properties window appears.

7. Select the Paper/Quality Tab.

8. Click Advanced button.
The Adobe PDF Converter Advanced Options window appears.

9. From the Paper Size drop down menu, select 11x17.

10.Click OK.
The Adobe PDF Document Properties window appears.

11.Click OK.
The Print Setup window appears.

12.In the Orientation Group Box, select the Landscape radio button.

13.Click OK.
The Print Book window appears.

14.Select the Generate Acrobat Data check box.

15.Click Print.
The PS file is generated.

16.Run Distiller to create the pdf.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

Subject: PDF page size

I've got a PDF with normal 8.5 x 11 pages. I add in a mechanical drawing
of
our product, which is blueprint size. It prints just fine as 8.5 x 11,
but
how do I get the blueprint pages to display at 8.5 x 11 in the PDF?
Currently when you hit the blueprint page it displays at 23% and then
when
you go back to a 'normal' page you have to blow it back up to 100% or
whatever.
Thanks,

Joel
