Subject: Press '1' for English

Last evening I visited the nearby "hometown" lumberyard/hardware
supplier
(i.e., not Home Depot) in search of a part to repair a toilet.
Prominently
displayed in their window and all over the store counters was the
following
sign:

*Santa Clause will be here on (dates).*
**
I informed both the manager and the cashier about the error, boldly
taking
out my pen and scratching out the trailing 'e' on one of the posters.
How
would you have reacted?

---------------------

I might have forgiven the mistake because, I confess, I used to make it.

BTW, do you know what Santa's little helpers are called these days?
They're called subordinate Clauses.
