The maker.ini file lets you specify the default font used to map unknown
fonts, and you can map specific fonts to the replacements you want. For
starters, find this set of settings in the [Fonts] section:

DefaultFamily=Times New Roman, Tms Rmn
DefaultAngle=Regular
DefaultVariation=Regular
DefaultWeight=Regular
DefaultSize=12

Change the first line to:

DefaultFamily= SensibleFontY

Then in the [UnknownToKnownFontMap] section, you can map specific fonts
used in your docs. Like this:

Helvetica, *, *, Regular=Arial, *, *, Regular

You need to use the "Frame font names," not the "Windows names" of the
fonts. That's the tricky part of editing the font mappings -- getting
the font names right.

The Customizing_Frame_Products.pdf helps a little. Just a little. Back
up maker.ini and start experimenting. Back up your docs, too. :-)

When the font substitutions seem to be working properly, go to File >
Preferences > General and turn off Remember Missing Font Names. From
then on, when you open a doc with missing fonts, FM will make the
substitutions permanent (once you save the doc, of course).

HTH!
Richard
