Milan Davidovic said, "Let's say you wanted to keep a blog, but the only reader is going to be you, the writer. Does anyone know of a blog application that could be installed and used on a thumb drive?"
Well, I'm not sure about putting it on a thumb drive, but you could make a website that only you can access and apply a blog template to it. Wordpress can do this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/190439
Or you can set your LiveJournal so nobody can read it.
Or you could try one of the methods to keep your blog private:
Some sites with various degrees of security:
diary.com
evernote.com
tumblr.com
www.my-diary.org
www.dreamstop.com
www.deardiary.net
www.thoughts.com
www.mydeardiary.com
www.diaryland.com
