And to risk a brief descent into the trivial: is there a good reason
to choose "might" over "may"?]

Beyond the might/may issue, the statement seems to suggest that it's
possible for the unit to respond, even to a misspelled command.
I'd go with something like, "CAUTION - For proper unit operation, ensure
all commands are entered accurately"
