Sorry to be so late in with this - I've only just spotted the thread.

You can get around the spaces by enclosing the path in quotation
marks. For an example, try:

dir "C:\Program Files" /s > filelist.txt

However, the command shell won't recognise hidden folders and files.
So you'll need something else if that presents a problem.
