Probably, but I don't have extensive lists so I hand number mine. It's
never been enough of a problem for me to bother finding a workaround. I
only mention it in case autonumbered paragraphs are a necessity for
Jen's project.

In fairness, I should state that I have never had a problem with chapter
numbers, page numbers, figure/illustration numbers, and so forth, all of
which are auto-numbered. It's only the numbered paragraphs that get
wonky. If it was a major problem for me, I'd probably use the same
strategy you mention.

Word also has problems with auto-numbering, which some of us work around
using SEQ fields, ListNum fields, etc. Does OpenOffice have equivalent
workarounds for auto-numbering?
