There might be another reason for re-posting these job ads. Last night I
spoke to an old friend of mine who is a seasoned project manager and an old
fox - planning to retire in a few months - and told him about this
discussion. His gut reaction was interesting: "They are just trying to show
they are still in business, while in reality they aren't so much," he said.
In other words, posting recurrent job ads (with no apparent intention to
hire) is one of the ways of making a "business as usual" impression.
I wonder if some of you can look back and say "ah, this had probably been
the case with that job ad: the company went down soon afterwards" in
retrospect.

Or is this assumption barking entirely up the wrong tree?
