Sounds like you had justifiable cause for janitor abuse.

Problem with long-a** saves? How about long-a** compiles? I once did a Java help system, using FrameMaker to create the content files and then using first-generation WebWorks Publisher to condense a help system out of them. The help had more than 300 pages (not counting the TOC and index) and the content files all together were about 40MB. I was working on a machine that had 64 MB of RAM. It took more than 45 minutes to complete one compilation.
