I text a fair bit. I arrange babysitting by texts, I've sent out birthday party invitations by text, arranged meeting up with my siblings (they're all mid-20s & younger), text my husband when I know he's not likely to be reading emails, discuss who's house to have Christmas dinner at, when there's something to add to the shopping list and he's out doing the shopping ... I'll also send MMS pictures to my daughter's grandparents on their phones, if there's something especially cute they would want to see. But I'd still only send at most 3-5 text messages a day, and that's not every day. I have not used text message voting for reality TV shows. ;)

I'm in my mid-30s, for what that matters. I've also heard (a few years back), that generally speaking SMS text had taken off much quicker in Australia than they had in the US (early 2000s). I'm not sure if that is true these days (and am not sure what kind of evidence that assertion was based on back then).

Does anyone other than high-school students have any use for txting on a
cell phone? I finally got my cell provider to turn off my txtability.
(They used to couldn't.) It was very annoying. Twitter via phone could
only be worse. Who reads the stuff, anyway?
