All,

I'm one of the contributors to the Ubuntu Manual project -- we're a group of
people trying to write a new user guide for users of Ubuntu.

For those of you who don't know, Ubuntu is an open source, free, Linux-based
operating system. It's used on about 2% of the world's computers, and is one
of the most user-friendly Linux distributions.

We're looking for some folks with technical writing experience to help with
the project of creating this manual. While we have a lot of Ubuntu users
helping out, we have far fewer contributors with experience in making
narratives, creating easy-to-understand instructions, writing with a clear
and consistent voice, etc.

While this is not at all a paid gig -- we're all volunteers -- I'm hoping
that some of you may be interested in helping out. You get to say that you
helped Ubuntu, helped participate in the open source movement, and get to
see your work in front of a lot of readers, eventually. This is also
something you can do from home, and hopefully will result in you learning
how to use a new operating system (if you don't know it already).

If you're interested, visit https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-manual for more
information, or just email me directly.
