Hi Robert

I think it's a red herring. There is no correlation to the TOC and the
topic from the Map ID perspective. Instead, there is an option you may
enable/disable that governs whether the TOC is synchronized to the topic
that is presented in the Topic panel.

Essentially it would work like this. Application displays specific
topic. Topic loads and if synchronization is enabled, the TOC should
synchronize to the topic.

Basically you need to check that the sync is enabled. In RoboHelp 7 you
do this by examining the Window properties. Click View > Pods > Project
Set-up. Expand the Windows folder and double-click the window you are
using. In the lower left corner of the dialog is a check box labeled
Auto-synchronize TOC. Ensure it has a check mark.

Normally I also advise to ensure the highlighting for the selected TOC
node is enabled. To do this, edit the Single Source Layout properties
for the CHM. On the dialog is a button labeled Edit. Once you click
that, you should see the dialog has a tab labeled TOC Styles. Click the
tab. Enable the Always Show Selection option.

If you have tried all of this already with no success, the next step
would be to try declaring a new window. Then ensure you choose the new
window when you compile.

Cheers... Rick :)
