I'd try to avoid changing the label depending
on the setting. Can the interface be changed so
that the name of the menu option becomes a toggle
named just "Default Configuration"? A checkmark
could appear next to the term if it is set as the
default and either nothing or an X next to the
term if it is not selected. I know OpenOffice
uses this convention.
