Thanks, Mike.
The CTRL+A looked like it was going to work, because it revealed that English(US)was used by a mixture of the text. Sadly, reapplying English to the selected text did not do the trick. I'm now very familiar with where to look in Proofing thanks to this experience. Grrrr.

>I have checked all over the Help and Google'd the question, but I cannot find out how to turn ON the red underlining for a misspelled word. I have tried all of the suggestions that I found, to no avail. I was forced by IT to upgrade and it has been awful to relearn things, let alone find out why Spell Checking is not underlining misspelled words like it used to.
