I really like GoToTraining, from the same people as GoToMeeting. An internet-based service that is super easy to use and already set up for simple training, unlike Captivate that gives you a complete workshop for setting up any kind of video or training.

If I were in your shoes as a contractor,Âthat's the solution I would recommend for your startup.

Later on they could hire professional trainers doing real instructional design with expensive tools from Adobe. Â

It depends upon whether you want just videos or interactive training. If
you want videos, Camtasia is fine. If you want something that is
interactive, something like Captivate is more along the lines of what
you need.

I've used TechSmith's Camtasia Studio for video tutorials in the past
and
was very happy with the result. It's only about $300.
