"Open source people" include "professional writers", who participate as
volunteer-writers on projects. The professional people who never
volunteer on community projects will probably never realize this. :-)

Open source bounty programs have been used for years to to help motivate
volunteers to work on less interesting subprojects. No new realizations
here. OOo has been doing writer bounties for a while, here's one from
2007, listed on the OSE list:
