The OP wrote, "this is the first time I've used Word for a project."

Let's say you're a manager. Your writer knows FM well, and has never
used Word for a project. Wouldn't you at least *think* about using FM? I
know I would.

It might be appropriate to sniff out why the manager wants to think
about using FM instead of Word. Does he have optimistic perceptions of
the appearance of the result? Does it fit into a grand scheme for
"upgrading" the company's software? Does he have money to burn? Is he
trying to avoid Microsoft? Has someone offered him a copy of FM 4 for an
irresistibly low price? Was he told it will run on Solaris? Has his
brother-in-law's nephew's girlfriend said that it runs circles around

The idea of doing a mockup of a FM doc in Word makes me think that mauve
has more RAM.
