I just have my doubts about how much use anyone would get out of a
bunch of random information pulled from a database by a computer
program. How is that much different than running a Google search?
Information, pulled from a database, by a computer program. Humans
give information structure and context. They provide details,
examples, anecdotes. Those are the things that make books worth
reading. And make non-fiction tolerable. (Have you *read* any
academic writing lately? Ugh. I was never so glad as when I finally
got out of grad school and could stop reading the drek they assigned
for homework.) I think artificial intelligence is still a long way
from replacing humans as authors.
