I would probably not bother. The filenames are invisible to the end document, and as long as you take care to keep the files from the new and previous book projects from getting mixed the only people who will ever notice are you and anyone else working on the doc. Our docs all have modules with mixed filenames in them, because we kernelize and reuse content.

Subject: FrameMaker book files question

Any ideas on how to rename multiple file names within a FrameMaker 8.0 book?

The book includes perhaps 20 or 30 separate files, all are consistently named
(SRC550 - System Functions, SRC550 - Operation, etc.).

We need to change all the files to SRC860.

I've already Googled every which way using different keywords, etc., with no
good results.

By the way, I tried highlighting all names in the book (within FrameMaker), then
right-clicking to get "Rename file", but it just picks the first file for the
rename process and then stops after that one is done.
