If I'm working at home, I use prescription reading glasses. If I leave
the computer, I swap them for my bifocals.

At work, where I need to switch between the computer and talking with
people, I use what you might call modal bifocals that have two pairs
of lenses, hinged together at the top. Flip down the second set, it's
reading prescription; flip them up, it's distance. Before I got those,
I was constantly misplacing one or the other pair.

I got the idea from the movie "Blue in the Face," in which I saw Lou
Reed wearing a pair. Since I knew such frames existed, I kept looking
and asking around until I found them. Then I saw the movie again and
realized that what he had was a single pair of lenses, dark glasses
that he could flip up without taking them off.
