And that's exactly what the Ask The Headhunter recommends ;-). Add an
informational interview to that--contact someone at the company you want to
work for, through LinkedIn or a friend, and ask if they can talk with you
for a few minutes about the company. LIke Steve said, educate yourself
first. It's a great way to really get a handle on what a company is really
like to work for, and how stable they might be.
