How do you get David Pogue to write a missing manual to coincide with
the delivery of the product? You ask.

Marketing departments know how to find the players who will generate
the most buzz. If they don't, fire that marketing department and get a
new one.

Blog business books even talk about generating street cred to attract
companies to send pre release demos for review. Forums can work the
same way, seeded on request by early adopters.
