I was just reading Claudine's recent post about no relocation assistance to France for the writer they are trying to hire, and this goes hand-in-hand.

At my last job, I saw some ads on one site for positions at our company where every non-clerical job offered relocation assistance except Senior Technical Writer.

What the hey???

Even here in Seattle I've seen my pay go down. And I can easily imagine being desperate enough to take a $13/hr technical editing job, if that's all I could find.
