Bill, I repeat from my first response to Megan's question:

"In general, use *uninstall* to refer to removing hardware or software from
a computer system. However, if the context talks about *adding*(rather than
*installing*) sw or hw, the preferred term is *remove*."

I grant you that the MMoS isn't the final word. Megan, and all others on
this forum, should follow whatever style has been adopted for their
employer or project. The point I made yesterday is to follow a *style
guide*and not just wing it according to one's own personal preference.
