Well, I don't get 2010 until the next phase of our Win 7-and-Office
roll-out, so I'm stuck at 2007, which I've had since last year (after
the long-awaited upgrade from Word 2003 on XP) and which I'll have
until at least next year. Some people in our office have 2010, as
they were swept up in a later phase of the roll-out.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I use Word about
once a month, now. Usually to update an existing Customer
Release Notes document or to tweak an install sheet for
a small interim release of one of our products.

I still have habits from old Word, such as NEVER importing
text from somebody else's document (like a copy of my own
doc that a reviewer has tweaked, say). I run all imported
text through Notepad first, just to be "safe".

For that matter, I do the same in Flare, if there's content
that I need from some Word doc. Overkill, no doubt. But one
less thing to wonder about when stuff goes wrong.

Perhaps 2010 is the holy grail.
However, by then, I think my across-the-aisle buddy,
the new techwriter, and I will be using his new Flare
templates and have pretty much abandoned Word for
authoring. We'll see.

Flare has the ribbon since version 8.0.
