Subject:opening unzipped HTML file on iPad ? From:"Monique Semp" <monique -dot- semp -at- earthlink -dot- net> To:"TechWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Mon, 6 Aug 2012 13:25:47 -0700
Hello, TechWR-L-ers,
I want to be able to put a giant set of HTML files (an API Reference) on my iPad so that I can show them without needing to be online.
So from my PC I uploaded a ZIP of the html files to my Dropbox account. And on the iPad I installed the Dropbox and iZip apps. And Iâve successfully opened (from within Dropbox) the ZIP in iZIP and extracted all the files. The result is that within iZIP I can now successfully click the extracted index.html file, and things look surprisingly good. (I say âsurprisinglyâ because no attempt was made when I created this DoxyS-authored API Reference to have the results viewable on mobile devices.)
So far so good.
But... Iâd really prefer to simply have a bookmark to that index.html page so that I could open it in the normal resident iPad browser (Safari, not sure how to tell which version).
Is this easily do-able?
Thanks much!
-Monique
