That was all hashed over in a previous post herein.

Iffen (sic) you have pro A/V gear, have a great backdrop, are an expert in
using body language to your advantage, have initially practiced with a
disinterested fellow Skyper, don't have graying hair and are somehow able
to show your complete versatility during such a session, then by all means
forge ahead.

I still think about EEoE issues in relation to both Skype interviews and
use of one's mug on LinkedIn (to which I finally succumbed, given that I'll
be retiring from my current employer at some point). Sharing your mug with
world is essential if you're applying for a TV anchor position or an
open *Dancing
With the Stars* judge slot, but is it really essential for an experienced,
versatile technical writer having an extensive portfolio? *(Bah!)*

A telephone interview works just as well and eliminates the opening
two-second thumbs-down when the interviewer immediately discerns that
you're older than 35.
