Hello, WR-L-ers,

Iâm giving a presentation that includes a few writing tips, including the advice to use the serial comma. (If youâre against that, fine. But please do not hijack this thread to debate the merits or atrocity of the serial comma. I like it, and Iâm going to advise people to use it :-).

Iâd like to include a cartoon, but Iâm artistically challenged, and so am looking for one online that is in the public domain or otherwise legal to use without violating any copyright.

I love both of these cartoons, http://www.google.com/imgres?sa=X&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS274&biw=1265&bih=1127&tbm=isch&tbnid=8-jEPz7hmSqRHM:&imgrefurl=http://lavengro.typepad.com/peter_harvey_linguist/2013/04/the-cambridge-comma.html&docid=q9Gin01KvTb4MM&imgurl=http://sheribomb.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/oxford_comma1.jpg&w=1200&h=779&ei=J3nbUZPFLMXF4APiu4AY&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:2,s:0,i:87&iact=rc&page=1&tbnh=181&tbnw=279&start=0&ndsp=31&tx=209&ty=70, but the first isnât quite appropriate, and I assume that neither is in the public domain in terms of my using them in a presentation.

This oneâs also pretty fun: http://www.google.com/imgres?sa=X&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS274&biw=1265&bih=1127&tbm=isch&tbnid=L106RlcZqqzprM:&imgrefurl=https://www.facebook.com/seriescomma%3Fhc_location%3Dtimeline&docid=cznoEINdmWyAGM&imgurl=https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/p480x480/403284_156581721122985_445968041_n.jpg&w=480&h=480&ei=J3nbUZPFLMXF4APiu4AY&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:3,s:0,i:90&iact=rc&page=1&tbnh=177&tbnw=172&start=0&ndsp=31&tx=104&ty=79

But, does anyone have examples that would be permissible to use in a (paid) presentation?

(And to complete your amusement, hereâs a whole Facebook page devoted to this: https://www.facebook.com/seriescomma?hc_location=timeline.)
