Oh, the intense pain and pressure of the 24-hour news cycle! Options off
the top of my head include:

Working to hire
Planning to hire
Expecting to hire
Desperate to hire (though "desperate" may describe the writer, not the
network)

Whatever, I really truly hope this new coinage doesn't stick!
