I don't think that's all that odd. IT people have to move heavy equipment
around as a matter of course, and this appears to be hardware-related tech
writing. My colleague who does hardware writing considers it part of the
job.

What I am finding strange is a recruiter from New York who emailed me about
a Silicon Valley contract job paying $21.26 hourly - less than half the
going rate for a junior writer in this area. Is this a trend, or an
aberration?
