It's been there since the very beginning, cleverly disguised as mail merge
capabilities. First, create a variable, for example Build_Id. Put an ASK
field at the beginning of the document to be able to enter a value for the
variable. Then, when you want conditional text, use an IF-THEN-ELSE field.

If you need more help than that, googling "conditional text in word" will
lead you to a lot of how to articles and videos.
