Re: Marketing and capitalization
It's all well and good to point to style guides (MMOS, Chicago, AP, etc.) but I've not ever encountered a marketing department that adhered to any sort of style guide. We technical writers can prod them in that direction or pitch a hissy fit when they do something particularly egregious but it seldom does any good. We just have to choke back the bile and accept that they're beyond our control.Marketing - it 'taint technical, it's Show Biz.
