Dan's point (below) is about all I could take away from that article.
More generally, consumer devices are an order of magnitude less complex
than the underlying services, systems, and manufacturing that create
them.



Want to crowdsource how to tweak your phone? No problem. Now... try to
crowdsource how to configure a production line with multiple robotic
and human assembly stations, including integration with inventory
management and resource planning systems. I'll be over here writing a
400-page admin manual for *just one* of my company's software
offerings.... ;)
