Guess that depends on your end game, but if you're just talking general techcomm, I have a soft spot for the Insider's Guide to Technical Writing (2012): http://www.amazon.com/The-Insiders-Guide-Technical-Writing/dp/1937434036

It's oriented for newbies and those looking to break into the field, but is full of all kinds of best practices-type information and resources as well.
