You can always use LearningDITA.com <http://learningdita.com/>. Itâs free, and while there are only two courses there at the moment, we have 2 more rolling out this fall with even more on deck. Itâs self-paced with links to other free resources for additional reading.

Yes, itâs DITA, but DITA is XML. It might help get you acclimated, whatever flavor of XML you end up working with.
