Resources. At this time our group doesn't have the resources to make a switch like that, nor does the IT group have the resources. We're 2 writers, 1 manager that still does a bit of writing, and the output we need to generate is way in to the "thousands of pages" area, so a migration to a source control system would be a huge undertaking.
Also, I think we have a mix in out files of some mapped to a specific drive letter in the Frame info for paths of items, while others are mapped to a server. In the past, I know I used to have issues with files mapped to a network drive, hence usually mapping to server.
