Yes. We refer to them as twisties, as does Peter Grainge. Outside of RoboHelp, they also have this name. (See https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSVRGU_8.5.3/com.ibm.designer.domino.main.doc/H_CUSTOMIZING_THE_EXPAND_AND_COLLAPSE_ICONS_OVER.html)

But twisty is for internal reference. I don't think we would refer to twisties for users.

I have encountered the term "twisty" in RoboHelp .

>From their online help:

Add or change images in a hotspot

1. Select Drop-down hotspot style in the Styles dialog box.
2. Expand Character styles to view the Drop-down hotspot style.
3. Click the Select Twisties Images button [icon of a right-pointing triangle].
4. Select an image to display closing drop-down text and one image to open a drop-down hotspot.
5. Select an option to place the images either at the Start Of Text or End Of Text. Similarly, you can change images for expanding text.

~~~~~
Typical twisty images are plus and minus signs, and right- and down-pointing triangles.
I'm not saying this validates the term, just suggesting where it may have originated.
