"Progressive disclosure controls" is appropriate for developer
documentation, though it's a broader category that includes not just
"rotating triangles" but chevrons, arrows, and +/- controls.

Somebody spent some time in academia: "Progressive disclosure controls
have a fairly weak affordances, which means their visual properties
suggest how they are used, albeit weakly."
