It's impossible to make a knowledgeable recommendation without knowing
your requirements and how Author-it is falling short.

I've used Paligo, Confluence with Scroll PDF and HTML exporters,
Flare, FrameMaker with RoboHelp, FrameMaker with ePublisher Pro, and
various other tools. Which I would use again would depend on the
specific requirements of the company or project.
