The answer *seems to be* Preferences > Tracker > Clear All Stored
Credentials.
Oddly, I kept wanting to click this, but it was disabled. Then I happened to
open Acrobat only (that is, not opening a doc), and the option was enabled,
so I clicked it. And magically things are working. It didnât ask me for a
password, but perhaps Iâd typed it correctly in the first place, and some
other connection problem was the issue.
I sure wish I knew what really happened, but Iâm happy that things are
working now :-)

Subject: Acrobat shared review - won't ask again after wrong password ?
Hello, TechWR-L-ers,
Iâm using Acrobat DC Pro, although I donât think this problem is
version-specific (I believe Iâve had it before).
My shared review process has been working fine. But because of IT policy, I
had to change my passwords, including for accessing the network share\folder
thatâs used to manage the shared review comments. When I opened a shared
review PDF, Acrobat did ask me for the password. Unfortunately, I mistyped
it, and now I cannot figure out how to get Acrobat to ask me again for the
password so I can enter the correct one. And so of course I canât retrieve
or publish comments.
How do I get Acrobat to ask me for the password?!
(I know thereâs a way; I had this happen before. But I foolishly didnât note
the answer, and I cannot find it now. I did try the ânew use * /dâ command,
which I thought fixed things before. I also tried stopping the Adobe
Synchronizer process and deleting the Collab and Synchronizer folders, but
that didnât elicit the wished-for prompt.)
Any ideas?
Thanks so much,
-Monique
