I remember the character grabbing some things that looked like small ring binders. But then I think he set them up and they were kind of like an iPad on a stand. I got the idea that he was reading the instructions, but that may be my old school mental model, maybe they were videos. But I didn't see xeroxed pages in a ring binder. That would have been a hoot.
