Bernd: That aabbyy software is pretty amazing. I downloaded an iPhone app
to translate text/OCR to multiple languages.

Vrushali: What is your need for the handwritten assignment as a file? If
you want to edit it, type it out. If you just want to digitize it in an
indexable search format, both Evernote Premium and Microsoft OneNote do a
pretty good job of indexing handwritten notes. Google only indexes text in
images and handwritten scans if the PDFs or images are available on a
public website. The free Google Docs doesn't do that for you.

(Note: I am not to be held responsible if any of my words prove false
because the features changed after time of writing.)
