For one thing, resist using staffing firms. They don't have your best interests at heart. You know who does: YOU.

Who knows what you can do and what you want? YOU do.

You can start by following The Muse (https://www.themuse.com/) and Liz Ryan on LinkedIn.

Here is something to give you a boost:

Nick Corcodilos has that same thought: http://www.asktheheadhunter.com/
He rips up fake job boards and fake resume outfits (some are names you think you trust), and has almost no good words for HR departments.

Corcodilos also warns never to reveal your current salary.

NEVER give your SSN until you are hired.

I think wanting the DOB is because they are not allowed to ask your age.
