Try glassdoor.com for salaries in the area. You have to share some data
(job interview questions, salary data, etc.) in order to access their
data. But that's how they've built their database. I've found that it's
not only useful to look at technical writer salaries (which are sometimes
hard to find), but also what other positions at the company are paid (since
I'm a software writer, I also see what they're paying their software
developers vs other companies in the area).
