Lynne W's sentence is elegant. If you want the descriptive sentence, Lin S has the right idea.

Mike (not a Lynn, regardless of spelling)

"fiber optics" is two words tho. Plus, is the first sentence even necessary? Isn't it highly likely that anybody doing the hardware installation will know that they're dealing with fiber optic cables? If not, do they need to know that?

Either way, the description can be simplified as: "Use canned air to clean the fiber ends in system cable connectors and receptacles. "

Consider:

*Note: *The System Cable and its receptacles contain fiberoptics. Clean the cable connectors and receptacles by blowing the fiber ends with a generic canned air as needed

Should fiber be fiberoptic?
