If you try to open very old Word documents (Word 95 and older) in recent Word versions, you'll get an error message due to security restrictions. You need to disable the restrictions. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/922849/opening-a-file-is-blocked-by-your-registry-policy-setting-or-file-bloc <https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/922849/opening-a-file-is-blocked-by-your-registry-policy-setting-or-file-bloc>.

But it works. A few months ago, I was able to use Word 2016 to open a Word 95 document I wrote around 2000 in high school. :-)

Is this what you meant?
